The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will take on the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in match number 60 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Friday. This will be an evening game and hence will start at 7:30 PM IST. The match will be significant for both teams keeping in mind the playoff qualification scenarios. RCB are better placed of the two teams, with 14 points after 12 matches. PBKS, on the other hand, have 10 points but they have three games in hand to try and push their way.

Bangalore came up with a terrific effort in the last game to get the better of the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 67 runs. Batting first, they put up an impressive 192 for 3 on the board. Faf du Plessis played a captain’s knock, Rajat Patidar and Glenn Maxwell chipped in with handy contributions before Dinesh Karthik did another brilliant finishing job. Virat Kohli got a first-ball duck, so that concern remains.

Wanindu Hasaranga was superb with the ball, claiming 5 for 18 while Josh Hazlewood impressed again with 2 for 17. Harshal Patel and Maxwell have also contributed, so their bowling is looking strong.

RCB predicted XI: Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis (c), Rajat Patidar, Glenn Maxwell, Mahipal Lomror, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Shahbaz Ahmed, Wanindu Hasaranga, Harshal Patel, Mohammed Siraj

Punjab did well to reach 189 in their last game. Jonny Bairstow found some much-needed form while Shikhar Dhawan, Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Liam Livingstone all have been in great touch. Keeper-batter Jitesh Sharma has also made some vital contributions down the order.

The bowling was taken apart in the last match, so that will worry PBKS. Sandeep Sharma went for 41, Kagiso Rabada for 50 and Rahul Chahar for 39. Arshdeep Singh has been the one consistent performer with the ball for Punjab this season.

PBKS predicted XI: Jonny Bairstow, Shikhar Dhawan, Mayank Agarwal (c), Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Liam Livingstone, Jitesh Sharma (wk), Rishi Dhawan, Kagiso Rabada, Rahul Chahar, Arshdeep Singh, Sandeep Sharma
