Shaw smashed 54 off 38 in his comeback match, while Warner scored 46 off 31 balls. The former hit five fours and two sixes, while the DC skipper slammed seven fours and a six. Both batters fell to Sam Curran.

Coming in at number three, Rossouw clobbered six fours and as many sixes. He played some terrific strokes to ensure Delhi Capitals crossed the 200-run mark. Rossouw and Phil Salt (26 not out off 14) added an unbroken 65 runs for the third wicket. He slapped two fours and as many sixes. Curran ended with figures of 2/36. On the other hand, Nathan Ellis went for 46 runs in his four overs.

Livingstone clubbed five fours and nine sixes in his innings, but the others could not make much of a contribution. Jitesh Sharma (0), Sam Curran (11) and Shahrukh Khan (6) all fell cheaply. For Delhi, Anrich Nortje and Ishant Sharma both claimed two wickets each in Delhi’s consolation win.

Speaking after the game Player of the Match Rossouw said, “Thanks to the support staff. Chuffed that I could perform for the team. As Davey mentioned was a good wicket. Davey put up a good partnership at the top. I enjoyed some momentum coming in. Just shows that this game is not over till the last ball is bowled.”

DC skipper David Warner said, “Pretty bad fielding performance. We backed our strengths. Playing on a nice wicket helped. Was pretty challenging at home. The impact Prithvi had was nice to see. Rilee Rossouw played well as well. We needed some consistency at our home venue. We haven't been able to work out a total at home. Great to get the points tonight.”
