James Franklin is the Man of the Match for his 1/44 and unbeaten 47
Brendon McCullum: It is an incredibly satisfying feeling. We showed a lot of fight today. A couple of experienced people got us over the line. The top order is an area of concern and we have to improve. There are a couple of areas in the field where we have to improve. We will enjoy this victory. McClenaghan has shown that he steams in and looks to take wickets. He was outstanding. We are a more confident ODI unit and we came up against a strong South African team in the Tests. We managed to show character and strength to get over the line. Special mention to James Franklin thanks to his contributions with both bat and ball.
AB de Villiers: We were not our best today. We have to play better in the next ODI. It was a good game of cricket but New Zealand came out on top. The top order has to score runs but we put pressure on the lower order. I am feeling much better without the gloves and I had a lot of time to communicate with the guys. Faf du Plessis is in wonderful form. Ryan McLaren has been a very consistent performer but unfortunately, we could not get over the line. I am sorry to have disappointed the fans.
New Zealand won the Match by 1 wicket and lead the series with 1-0.
