New Zealand goes into the series with a deluge of losses in the shorter format of the game. They lost to Bangladesh 4-0 and then went to India 5-0, which makes it difficult for them. The one factor that obviously goes in their favour is the fact that they are playing at home.
As compared to that, Pakistan lost both, the T20I series and the ODIs, but played well to extract a draw in the Test series against South Africa. However, it will be interesting to see how the Pakistanis cope with the New Zealand conditions which are going to be cold and will cause issues for the touring side.
