Sri Lanka won the third and final T20I at Hambantota by 6 wickets on Tuesday to avoid a 0-3 cleansweep. For a change, it was a slightly high-scoring game in the 3-match series with Sri Lanka chasing down a target of 164 with 11 balls to spare.
Batting has been the chief cause of Sri Lanka’s failure in the T20 series against South Africa. On Tuesday at Hambantota though they demonstrated how good they can be on occasions when they get their act right.
Following the 4-1 thrashing in the one-day series that recently concluded, South Africa went into the T20 series as obvious underdogs. But, they have come back exceedingly well to clinch the T20 contest by winning the first two matches of the three-game series.
