The touring England team has arrived in Ahmedabad from Mumbai this morning. The visitors will play in a four-day warm-up match from tomorrow at the Motera against Haryana. The opening Test of the 4-match series between India and England will also be played at Ahmedabad.
Interestingly, England had come off to Ahmedabad after playing a fringe Mumbai A side which did have the likes of Indian test batsman Cheteshwar Pujara. And tomorrow they will play against Haryana which is considered as a weak team. Haryana was bundled out for a mere 55 in its opening Ranji Trophy match against Vidarbha.
The BCCI decision to have Haryana play England in the warm-up looks weird but again the former are the only team that is free during the second round of the ongoing Ranji Trophy. So whether England will get any decent work out against a fringe team remains to be seen!
