New Zealand’s Corey Anderson rewrote the record books on the first day of the New Year by smashing the fastest century in one-day cricket against West Indies at Queenstown. Here’s a look at the updated list of top 10 fastest hundreds in one-day cricket.

Corey Anderson: The New Zealand middle-order batsman smashed a century from 36 balls against West Indies at the Queenstown Events Centre. Anderson ended up making an unbeaten 131 from 47 balls with six fours and as many as 14 sixes.

Shahid Afridi: The Pakistan dasher has slipped to number two on the list. His famous century came off 37 balls against Sri Lanka at Nairobi in 1996. Afridi was dismissed for 102 from 40 balls with 6 fours and 11 sixes.

Mark Boucher: The former South African wicket-keeper blasted a 100 from 44 balls against Zimbabwe at Potchefstroom back in 2006. Boucher ended up with an unbeaten 147 from 68 balls with the aid of 8 fours and 10 sixes.

Brian Lara: The West Indies legend got a hundred off 45 balls against Bangladesh at Dhaka in 1999. The left-hander was eventually dismissed for 117 off 62 balls with 18 fours and 4 sixes.

Shahid Afridi: The Pakistani enters the list again at number 5. He made a century from 45 balls against India at Kanpur in 2005. Afridi ended up making 102 from 46 balls with 10 fours and 9 sixes.

Jesse Ryder: The burly Kiwi also got a quick ton in the same match as Anderson. Ryder got to his hundred off 46 balls before being dismissed for 104 from 51 balls with 12 fours and 5 sixes.

Sanath Jayasuriya: Sri Lanka’s master blaster smashed a 100 from 48 balls against Pakistan at Singapore back in 1996. The left-hander ended up making 134 from 65 balls with 11 fours and as many sixes.

Kevin O’Brien: The Ireland big-hitter shell-shocked England by blasting a 100 from 50 balls against them at Bangalore during the 2011 World Cup. O’Brien ended up making 113 from 63 balls, an innings which included 13 fours and 6 sixes. The most impressive aspect of the knock was the fact that O’Brien got the runs even as Ireland were chasing a massive 328 from to win.

Virat Kohli: India’s most consistent batsmen in recent years, Kohli smashed an unbeaten 100 off 52 balls against the hapless Aussie bowling attack at Jaipur earlier this year. India were chasing 360 to win in the famous game, and achieved the same as Kohli smashed 8 fours and 7 sixes.

Shahid Afridi: The Pakistan batsman reenters the list at number 10. He slammed a ton off 53 balls against Bangladesh at Dambulla in 2010. Afridi ended up with 124 from 60 balls with 17 fours and four sixes.
