England women's team vice-captain Nat Sciver has claimed that the current Indian team women's team seems to be more fearless than before. India will be meeting England in a one-off Test, starting in Bristol on June 16. The Test match will be followed by three ODIs and an equal number of T20Is.

Speaking to ESPNcricinfo ahead of the Test match, Sciver praised the Indian team and said, "They're an ever-growing side. There's always a new, young talent on the team who isn't afraid to go out there and show what they've got. They seem to be more fearless than I've seen before."

"Couple that with a lot of experience in their team, with Mithali Raj, Jhulan Goswami, they can be a very difficult side to beat. Hopefully in England, in our conditions, we can hone our skills and make sure that we're doing the right things. Last time we played India, we weren't very good in that Test match and we didn't play to our potential so hopefully we can do better this time," Sciver added.

Sciver admitted that playing Test cricket is a different feeling for there aren’t as many in women’s cricket as compared to men’s. According to Sciver, preparing for Tests calls for a change in approach towards training. She added, "They don't come around very often so it does bring something different to training and when you're looking at tactics and stats that have been before you can't really go on any of those because they're so few and far between, women's Tests."

"So it is a learning curve every time we start to prepare and turn our minds to it. We've had a practice game and we've had a few centre-wicket practices where we're just seeing what works, seeing what doesn't work," she further said.

Earlier, Indian team vice-captain Harmanpreet Kaur admitted that, while they haven’t got too much time to practice, the team is looking forward to the Test challenge with a positive mindset.

“Whatever time we got, we tried to prepare as much as we could. We have also tried to stay in the best frame of mind. We have not got a lot of time to prepare. We didn’t get any practice games or something like that. But still, as players, it is imperative for us to adapt to the situation as quickly as possible. Wickets are quite different here as compared to India, the ball will also swing,” Kaur, who has played only two Tests, told the media at a virtual press conference.
