New Zealand are on the backfoot at 66 for 3 in 33 overs by Stumps on Day 2 of the Second Test at the Basin Reserve in Wellington in reply to England’s first innings total of 465.
Stuart Broad has claimed two wickets which included that of Ross Taylor, who was dismissed for a first ball duck. At stumps on Day 2, New Zealand have no.3 Kane Williamson batting on 32* along with Dean Brownlie, who is on 8*.
Early on, England resuming Day 2 at 267 for 2 finished with 465 all out in 146.5 overs. Overnight centurion Jonathan Trott finished with 121 (from 235 balls with 15 fours) while Kevin Pietersen scored 73 (from 149 balls with 7 fours and a six). After a slight batting collapse, England were lifted by Matt Prior’s knock of 82 from 99 balls (with 10 fours and 2 sixes).
For the Kiwis, left-arm spinner Bruce Martin toiled hard to take 4 for 130 in 48 overs while Boult, Wagner and Williamson all took two wickets each.
