Virender SehwagVirender Sehwag is a relieved man as he finally got into some form by scoring a swashbuckling century on the opening day’s play of the First Test at Ahmedabad. This was Sehwag’s first century in nearly two years. For the record, it was the 23rd Test century for the dashing opener. Viru scored a run-a-ball 117 with 15 fours and a six before he was dismissed in an attempted sweep shot off Graeme Swann which disturbed his stumps.

Sehwag’s superb century helped India reach 323 for 4 by the close of play on Day 1. The opening batsman first got a stand of 134 with Gautam Gambhir and then put on 90 runs for the second wicket with Cheteshwar Pujara who is just a couple of runs short from a 2nd Test century.
