England have decided to rest their premium spinner Graeme Swann for the remaining three ODIs against South Africa. Swann of late has been having a troubled elbow in his right arm which might need surgery sometime perhaps after the World Twenty20.
Replacing Swann is Kent’s James Tredwell, the 30-year-old who has played a lone Test and 6 ODIs before.
The ECB while resting Swann ahead of the World Twenty20 has announced that the off-spinner will be back to play the 3-T20I Series against the Proteas.
The third ODI between England and South Africa will be played tomorrow at The Oval. The hosts are trailing 0-1 in the 5-match series with the first ODI at Cardiff washed out followed by a crushing victory by the Proteas in the Second ODI at Southampton.
