The Indian cricket team for the 2023 ODI World Cup to be played in India from October 5 to November 19 has been announced. There were no surprises as such. The core of the team is as expected.

The current Team India squad assembled at the T20 World Cup in Australia is the best ever team, stated former India coach Ravi Shastri. He was in charge of the 2021 T20 World Cup and the boys didn't qualify for the knockout phase then.

The coach stepped down from his role recently despite Australia claiming the Ashes 4-0. Andrew McDonald has been appointed interim coach for the Pakistan series.

England have announced a 17-member squad for the first two Tests of the five-match series against India. Fast bowler Jofra Archer remains unavailable while Ben Stokes and Ollie Robinson both make a return. Robinson comes back after he was fined and handed an eight-match ban, five of which are suspended for two years, for offensive historical tweets. His posts went viral on his Test debut against New Zealand.

The BCCI, on Thursday, announced the Indian team for the T20 series against South Africa, which begins from September 15.

With the IPL over, the focus now shifts to the World Cup where Virat Kohli and his men will be raring to go. India coach Ravi Shastri too feels that India have most bases covered, which makes them one of the favourites.
