The Pakistan cricket Board's integrity committee on Friday cleared former captain Shoaib Malik and announced him eligible to be considered for the national team once again.

The Pakistan cricket Board's integrity committee on Friday cleared former captain ShoaibMalik and announced him eligible to be considered for the national team once again.

The eight member integrity committee announced after another hearing with Malik at the Gadafi stadium that prima facie Malik has been able to establish he was not involved in any questionable activity.

The integrity committee had prevented Malik from being considered for national selection over certain deposits in his overseas accounts since December last year including one major amount of 95,000 pounds.

"The committee after several hearings and considering the documents provided by Malik and his argument believes the said deposits in this overseas account did not emanate from any questionable source or activity. As against that no incriminating material to the contrary was available on the record hence ShoaibMalik is hereby cleared by the Integrity Committee," the PCB announced.

Malik has been named among the reserves for the coming Zimbabwe tour and a source said he was likely to be considered for the one-day matches in Zimbabwe now.
