In a complete contrast to the Indo-Aus Series, the Pak-SA contest for a second time in a row was a low-scoring affair, this time at Dubai on Friday. Despite scoring only 209, Pakistan went onto win the match by a comprehensive margin of 66 runs in the Second ODI to level the 5-match series 1-1.

Pakistan batting first after winning the toss were anchored by opener Ahmed Shehzad’s 58 from 85 balls. The rest of the batsmen failed to score anything significant and Pakistan folded to 209 all out in 49.4 overs. Tall fast bowlers Morne Morkel with 3 for 38 and Ryan McLaren with 4 for 34 set the match in favour of South Africa.

However, the second half show saw the Pakistani bowlers demolishing the South Africans to 143 all out in 40.4 overs. Mohammad Irfan and Shahid Afridi claimed three wickets each while Saeed Ajmal with 2 for 15 from 8 overs applied massive pressure on the South African batsmen. Shahid Afridi was the Man of the Match for his all-round contribution of 26 and 3 for 26.
