Dwayne Smith is the Man of Match: 'I am very happy. I just wanted to get myself in and pick up the pace after judging the nature of the track. Narine is their most important bowler and we wanted to just play him out. Looking forward to the next few matches as well.'

Rohit Sharma: 'Very happy with the way we fought today. We did not get a good start, but coming back from that position was very great. We knew that we had the quality in the team to deliver the goods. We pulled things back in the last 5-6 overs of their batting. We wanted to get off to a good start, the pitch tended to get slow and low as the match progressed. Happy to get my captaincy off to a good start, was a bit nervous towards the end but I knew we had the match under our grasp.'

Gautam Gambhir: 'It was a very good track to bat on. I thought 160 was a very good score. Credit to them, they planned the chase very well. We have not been able to cross the finishing line. This is always a good batting track, today's match proved it.'

Rohit Sharma is Mumbai's new skipper for today match.

Head to head: Played 10, Mumbai won 8, Kolkata won 2.

Today is April 24th and it means only one thing. The greatest ever batsman that India has produced, Sachin Tendulkar celebrates his 40th birthday and it is also the 15th anniversary of one of India's biggest ODI triumphs, the 1998 Coca Cola trophy in Sharjah, again marshalled by Tendulkar. Coming to the present times, the cake has been cut and Mumbai will hope that Sachin provides the icing with a spectacular performance as they seek to come back from two heavy defeats. Their opponents on the night are the defending champions, Kolkata, another team that is struggling to stay afloat in the competition. Things have not yet reached breaking point, but the team that loses today's match may find it extremely hard to get back into the reckoning for a knock-out spot.
