The Indian team for the upcoming Zimbabwe tour will be announced on Friday with the Selectors likely to experiment a few youngsters. India will be playing five ODIs against the minnows and the usual practice has been to pick an inexperienced team under a young leader with a few rookies making international debuts.

Virat Kohli is likely to be retained as the Captain of the Indian team although he has been continuously playing in all the formats of the game in the recent times and needs a much deserved break from the sport. MS Dhoni in all likelihood will not be picked with the Skipper as such having a hamstring strain. Even if he was fit, Dhoni would have been rested from the tour.

The Selectors may rest the likes of Ishant Sharma, R Ashwin and Umesh Yadav to preserve them for better challenges ahead. It will be interesting to see if the Selectors will reward young guns who had played in the Under-19 World Cup or not.

The short tour of Zimbabwe begins on the 24th of this month and will be played at just the two venues like it has always been at Harare and Bulawayo.
