A solid knock of 80 from 52 balls from Robin Uthappa helped Kolkata Knight Riders to a comfortable 6-wicket win with 8 balls to spare over Mumbai Indians at Cuttack. KKR with this victory have moved up to the no.4 place with 5 wins and 5 defeats in their 10 matches so far. Mumbai Indians are more or less out of the tournament with just the 3 wins and 7 defeats in 10 games.

Mumbai Indians was once again too slow in the first 10 overs of their innings. The KKR spinners strangled them completely and the change of gears for Mumbai Indians was done pretty late. Skipper Rohit Sharma who struggled to get going managed to hit 4 fours and 2 sixes to score 51 from 45 balls.

The defending champions posted a modest total of 141 for 5 on a track that stayed slightly low and took some turn. Sunil Narine was outstanding for KKR, especially in the death and finishing with mean figures of 4-0-18-1. Shakib Al Hasan bowled his four overs for just 21 while Piyush Chawla gave away 32 off his 4 overs.

Once again KKR got off to a lovely start, this time 50 for 1 in 7.2 overs. Uthappa almost stayed the distance before he got out in the 16th over leaving KKR with just another 26 to get from 24 balls. Yusuf Pathan finished the match with a cameo of 20* from 13 balls.

Toss and Teams: Kolkata Knight Riders have won the toss and asked Mumbai Indians to bat first in Match 40 at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack. KKR make one change with Shakib Al Hasan coming in for Jacques Kallis while Mumbai Indians stick with the same team.
