Skipper Darren Sammy scored an unbeaten 60 at no.8 and then followed it up with 3 for 28 in 8 overs to help West Indies pull off a resounding victory in the Fourth ODI at Mirpur. The 5-match series is now leveled at 2-2 with the decider to be played at this same venue tomorrow itself.

Darren SammyIt was a low scoring affair at the Shere Bangla National Stadium on Friday. Bangladesh asking West Indies to bat first after winning the toss had the tourists on the mat at 102 for 6 in the 32nd over. However, the Tigers didn’t have any answers to getting Darren Sammy out, who would go onto score a fighting 60* (from 62 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes). As a result, West Indies managed to double its score from the 32nd over to finish with a modest 211 for 9. For Bangladesh, offie Mahmudullah was the most successful bowler taking 3 for 46 in his 10 overs.

Bangladesh with a perfect opportunity to seal the series 3-1 made a complete mess of their run chase of 212. By the completion of the 3rd over itself, Bangladesh were nearly out of the contest at 7 for 4 and a little while after that at 13 for 5 with Darren Sammy and Kemar Roach running through the top order. West Indies made most of that great start with the ball to wrap up Bangladesh for a paltry 136 in 34.1 overs. Mahmudullah played a valiant knock of 56* (from 78 balls with 7 fours) to follow up with his 3 for 46.
