Virat Kohli expressed disappointment after yet another below par performance by his team in the IPL match against Rising Pune Supergiant on Saturday.
Speaking at the post-match presentation, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper Virat Kohli said, "I think it's for everyone to see we lost that game. It's hard for a captain to stand here and speak after a performance like this," Rising Pune Supergiant won the match by 61 runs.
Kohli admitted his side had no chance of making it to the play-offs even if they win the next four games. "We are pretty much not in the race for the Playoffs. All we can do is enjoy the four remaining games," said Virat Kohli.
On the loss to Pune, Kohli opined, “We lost the game rather than them winning it. But got to learn and move on from these kind of experiences.”
RCB have lost seven out of 10 matches. Asked about his team poor performance, Kohli explained, "Could be a few reasons, expectations, people looking at us as a good batting side that made the Playoffs last year. Can't really pinpoint something -- could be hesitation to get out, to get runs," he said.
For Rising Pune Supergiant, Lockie Ferguson was brilliant with 2 for 7, and earned the praise of his skipper Steven Smith.
