Hosts England will face Bangladesh in match number 12 of the 2019 World Cup at Cardiff on Saturday. Both teams go into the match having lost their previous contests so will be keen to return to winning ways.

England, in particular, will have a point to prove after they were stunned by mercurial Pakistan in their previous contest. Their bowlers were taken apart by Pakistan in a rather systematic fashion. Jofra Archer will need to rediscover his touch against Bangladesh. He would also need support from the likes of Mark Wood and Chris Woakes.

If you look at their batting, there is very little for England to complain. Jason Roy, Joe Root, Jos Buttler, and Ben Stokes have all been among the runs and skipper Eoin Morgan to has looked good out in the middle. But, England should be disappointed at not chasing down Pakistan's big total in the previous game. Root and Buttler got brilliant hundreds but it mattered little as both gave their wickets away just after crossing their personal landmarks.

Bangladesh has had a mixed run so far but they have been impressive nonetheless. They came together brilliantly as a unit against the hapless South Africans but despite a late fight against New Zealand could not finish on the winning line. Their batting, however, was a let down against the Kiwis which cost them in the end. The experienced Tamim Iqbal will have to shoulder more responsibility at the top of the order.

The Asian side would be extremely pleased with performance or their talismanic player Shakib Al Hasan, who has been in great form. They have impressive bowling out with the likes of skipper Mashrafe Mortaza, Mustafizur Rahman and Mehidy Hasan. The overcast conditions could aid the pacers of both sides.

There is an intriguing sub-context to the game as Bangladesh had knocked England out of World Cup 2015. The defeat changed England cricket forever.
