South Africa, one of the top teams in the world had a bad run in the ICC World T20 2012. The Proteas under the leadership of AB de Villiers lost all their three Super Eights matches despite having a potent bowling attack consisting of the likes of Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel.

The Proteas under the leadership of AB de Villiers lost all their three Super Eights matches despite having a potent bowling attack consisting of the likes of Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel. With Pakistan defeating Australia, South Africa were eliminated from the tournament and their last game against India was more about salvaging some pride. The Proteas went onto lose the match by a whisker but their 1-run defeat spoilt India’s chances of making it to the Semi Finals.
