Asked to bat first after losing the toss, West Indies were going along slowly at 98 for 3 in the 26th over. Skipper Dwayne Bravo, coming in at no.7 with 48 (from 27 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes) along with Darren Sammy (29* from 18 balls) provided the much needed energy. West Indies finished with a respectable total of 242 for 7.

Opener Johnson Charles with 43 (from 71 balls) and Marlon Samuels with 45 (from 89 balls) also got amongst the runs but couldn’t kick on to make bigger scores. For Pakistan, Junaid Khan took 3 for 48 while Mohammad Irfan took 2 for 34 in 10 overs.

Pakistan had a fine start of 51 from its openers. One of them, Ahmed Shehzad went onto score 64 from 100 balls while putting a second fifty run stand of the Pakistani innings with Skipper Misbah. Pakistan were behind the required run rate but got home thanks to the efforts of Misbah-ul-Haq (63 from 93 balls with 5 fours and a six) and Umar Akmal (37 from 28 balls with 5 fours and a six). For the hosts, Tino Best bowled with fire taking 3 for 48.

Skipper Misbah-ul-Haq took two prizes – Man of the Match and the Player of the Series for his consistent batting performances.
