Rain played spoilsport in the Pallekele Test by ruining the entire second day’s play. Not a single ball was bowled as a result of the wash out and thus denying everyone the opportunity to watch could have been some intriguing action with Sri Lanka at 44 for 3 in reply to Pakistan’s 226.

The day’s play was abandoned at 3:10 PM local itself. With 13 wickets going down on Day 1, there is plenty of hope to see a result in this Test Match in the next three days because of the spicy nature of the wicket.

Start of play on Day 2: The Second Day’s play in the Third Test at Pallekele is going to be delayed because of bad weather. There was heavy rain around 6:00 AM but with the ground almost fully covered, there wasn’t much damage following that. However, just at the start of play, rain has started to come down to delay the action.

The match is delicately poised with Sri Lanka at 44 for 3 in reply to Pakistan’s 226.
