Graeme SwannHe was the lone man fighting amongst the English bowlers as Virender Sehwag and Cheteshwar Pujara kept on piling up the runs for India. The visitors were simply losing the plot as India got two back-to-back partnerships to completely dominate the opening day’s play. But off-spinner Graeme Swann bowled magnificently to wrest some control over things. The offie took all the four wickets to fall on the opening day’s play.

Swann’s success was more to do with the accuracy of line and length. He got the ball to turn in sharply and also got the odd one to straighten outside off with just a bit of bounce. Swann toiled away to bowl as many as 32 overs giving away just 85 runs and taking four wickets. It would have been a different story for England had Swann also struggled to make any impact like the rest of the bowlers.
