Mumbai Indians (MI) will face Rajasthan Royals (RR) in match 24 of IPL 2021 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. MI have had a middling season so far. They have played five games, winning two and losing three. In their last match, they went down to Punjab Kings by nine wickets, managing to put up only 131 on the board, batting first.

RR have fared even worse, if anything. They are at number seven in the points table with two wins from five games but with a lower net run rate. In their last game, Rajasthan managed to defeat Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by six wickets. As such, they would be a bit more confident going into the next match. Like MI though, RR will also have to start firing soon enough.

MI skipper Rohit Sharma led from the front in the last match with a fluent half-century. However, the rest of the batting, barring Suryakumar Yadav, failed to make an impact. The likes of Quinton de Kock, Ishan Kishan, Kieron Pollard, as well as the Pandya brothers will have to lift their game. Their overall batting has been a let down overall.

The bowlers haven’t had much to do over the last couple of games since the batting has failed. When they have got a chance, the trio of Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah and Rahul Chahar have been highly impressive. Jayant Yadav has done a decent job in the games he has played while Krunal Pandya has blown hot and cold.

For RR, Chris Morris came up with an excellent bowling performance to claim 4 for 23. The left-arm seam bowling trio of Jaydev Unadkat, Chetan Sakariya and Mustafizur Rahman have been highly impressive.

In the batting, RR would be desperate for Jos Buttler to find some form. Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shivam Dube and Rahul Tewatia will need to lift their game while skipper Sanju Samson must continue from where he left off in the last game, when he played a mature knock
