James Anderson has been included in the England Squad for the three T20Is against South Africa which begins tomorrow. Anderson wasn’t part of the original squad but gets in as a cover for Steven Finn, who is having a stiff back. Finn had missed out in the final ODI at Nottingham in which he was replaced with Chris Woakes.

The 30-year-old Jimmy Anderson now gets an opportunity to play a T20I after a long gap of three years! His last match was against South Africa at Centurion in 2009. Interestingly, Anderson is not in the England Squad for the ICC World Twenty20 2012.

James AndersonAnderson has been bowling superbly showing good pace and movement in the final ODI at Nottingham where he picked up a couple of wickets with the new ball. However, we will have to see if England achieves anything by including a player who is not part of their ICC World Twenty20 plans.

England Squad for T20I Series: Stuart Broad (Captain), Jonny Bairstow, Ravi Bopara, Tim Bresnan, Danny Briggs, Jos Buttler, Jade Dernbach, James Anderson Steven Finn, Alex Hales, Craig Kieswetter (Wicket Keeper), Michael Lumb, Eoin Morgan, Samit Patel, Graeme Swann and Luke Wright
