India A Squads picked for New Zealand Series

The Selection Committee today named the squads to represent India A in a home series against New Zealand. India A and New Zealand A are scheduled to play a 3-day game, a 4-day game and three one dayers.

The Selection Committee today named the squads to represent India A in a home series against New Zealand. India A and New Zealand A are scheduled to play a 3-day game, a 4-day game and three one dayers. The New Zealand A tour of India kicks off on the 31st of this month with a 3-day unofficial Test at Vizag.

The India A team for the longer format is going to be led by Mumbai’s left-handed batsman Abhishek Nayar. The squad has plenty of youngsters which include Under-19 World Cup winning Captain Unmukt Chand and the recent Under-19 star batsman Vijay Zol. Abhishek Nayar is the only player to have represented the senior India team while one of the members Dhawal Kulkarni had made it to the Indian squad but is yet to make his debut at the highest level.

The India A team for the one-dayers has Unmukt Chand as the Captain. The team has a couple of fringe players such as Robin Uthappa and leggie Rahul Sharma who would be looking to make their India comeback.
