India got the better of New Zealand by 178 runs in the second Test at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The victory, which was achieved in four days, not only ensured another series win at home for the Indians, but also saw them displace arch-rivals Pakistan as the number one team in Test matches
West Indies continued their impressive comeback in the series by restricting India to 234 for 5 at the end of day one at St Lucia. Having won the toss, and put the opposition in, West Indies had India in all sorts of strife at 126 for 5.
It wasn’t the best of batting shows from India A as they could only manage a slender first innings lead of 25 runs in the 1st Unofficial Test against West Indies A at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown.
