Sri Lanka have caused another upset over Australia defeating them by 29 runs in a truncated Second ODI at the SCG in Sydney. In the rain affected match, Sri Lanka batting first after winning the toss put up 213 for 3 in 41.1 overs before rain caused an abrupt finish to their innings. Opener Upul Tharanga top scored with an unbeaten 86 from 112 balls with 6 fours while Tillakarathe Dilshan with 47 and Kumar Sangakkara with 45 contributed meaningfully. Tharanga would later get the Man of the Match.
The Aussies had an imposing target of 240 in 38 overs according to the D/L Method. The hosts were bowled out for 210 with all the five Lankan bowlers getting amongst the wickets. The top scorer for Australia was opener Shane Watson who made 40.
