Kolkata's recovery after loss of early wickets was halted by rain at the end of 11 overs just when Yusuf Pathan and Manoj Tiwary got things moving against Royal Challengers Bangalore here on Saturday.

The Knight Riders were 69/3 when covers were brought on.

The visitors got off to the worst possible start as Bangalore destroyed their top order after RCB's stand-in skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to field.

Zaheer Khan, Charl Langeveldt and S Aravind took the three wickets to fall, which reduced the visitors to 3/30 in the sixth over.

Royal Challengers made two changes in their squad. Abhimanyu Mithun came in for Kazi and Luke Pomersbach for Dilshan.

With six wins on the trot, Bangalore are barely two points away from ensuring a place in the play-offs and they could not have envisaged such a rosy scenario at the start of their IPL campaign.

If KKR, who have 14 points from 11 games, go on to win this game, they would also put themselves in contention for a place in the qualifiers.
