India made quite heavy weather chasing a modest target of 234 against Sri Lanka in the Second Match of the CB Series at the WACA in Perth. The Indian victory which came by 4 wickets was built up by some excellent spin bowling from R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja. Zaheer Khan provided the initial breakthroughs to ensure that Sri Lanka weren’t off to a flier before the two spinners bowled the way they wanted. It was a much improved performance from the Indian spinners compared to the first game against Australia.

Sri Lanka got their team composition wrong as they went with all all out pace attack. Surprisingly, the WACA pitch provided plenty of spin for the Indian bowlers! Over 35.5 R Ashwin to DPMD Jayawardene, CAUGHT, this is well tossed up around leg and Mahela goes through with a slog sweep but only to get caught low by Rohit at deep backward squareleg! It must be the extra bounce which might have produced a bit of top edge!
