England have named Dublin-born Eoin Morgan as captain for the one-day international against Ireland on 25 August.
Morgan leads a 13-man squad that includes four players yet to play at international level.
James Taylor, Jonathan Bairstow, Ben Stokes and Scott Borthwick have been called up after impressing for England Lions and their respective counties.
England play India in a one-day series after the match in Dublin.
England national selector Geoff Miller said: "I know he [Morgan] is very much looking forward to assuming the captaincy and developing his leadership credentials while in charge of a young England squad."
The 24-year-old, who is the vice-captain of England's Twenty20 team, played for Ireland in the 2007 Cricket World Cup, before making his England one-day debut against West Indies in May 2009.
He has made four ODI centuries - the first for Ireland against Canada in 2007, and three for England - against Bangladesh, Australia and Pakistan.
