Kings XI Punjab skipper Adam Gilchrist on Wednesday won the toss and elected to bowl first against Chennai Super Kings at the PCA stadium in Mohali.

Paul Valthaty smashed a 23-ball 50 to keep the Kings XI Punjab's run chase on track after Morne Morkel dismissed Adam Gilchrist in their IPL tie.

Chasing a massive 189-run target posted by Chennai Super Kings, Kings XI Punjab got off to a flier as their openers - Adam Gilchrist and Paul Valthaty - declared an all out attack from the outset at the PCA Stadium in Mohali on Wednesday.

Praveen Kumar gave Kings XI Punjab a dream start, taking two Chennai Super Kings' wicket in the very first over of the innings at the PCA Stadium in Mohali on Wednesday.

The swing bowler first trapped Chennai last-match hero Srikkanth Anirudha on the very first delivery and followed it up by getting Suresh Raina caught at short mid-wickeet.
