Pune Warriors picked up their second consecutive win of the tournament by defeating Kochi Tuskers Kerala at the Dr DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai by 4 wickets. It was a terrific run chase for Pune which was clinched in the end because of an unbeaten knock of 37 from 21 balls by middle order batsman Mohnish Mishra. Pune Warriors were only chasing 149 but were under huge pressure after getting reduced to 73 for 4 in the 12th over. Robin Uthappa played an intimidating cameo of 31 from 13 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes but fell at the wrong juncture of the chase to put the pressure back. However, Mohnish Mishra kept his cool to steer his side to the win with 7 balls to spare.
It was Kochi Tuskers Kerala who had won the toss and elected to bat first but only to find themselves at a pathetic 24 for 4 in the 5th over. A lovely partnership of 88 between Brad Hodge (39 from 36 balls) and Ravindra Jadeja (47 from 33 balls) helped them recover to a respectable 148 for 8 which was successfully chased down by the Pune Warriors.
